Hello, I’m Helen.
Once upon a time (aka a few years ago), my wardrobe was full of beautiful, well-made clothes I’d barely worn. Some still had tags. Some had been worn once to a wedding or a weirdly specific themed party. Some I loved but had absolutely no business squeezing into anymore.
And yet… There they sat. Not quite landfill. Not quite useful. Just expensive nostalgia.
I knew I wasn’t the only one. As women, we’re constantly changing – becoming mums, starting jobs, ditching jobs, going through breakups, glow-ups, relocations, and revolutions. And our wardrobes tend to come along for the ride – even when they really should’ve jumped off three stops ago.
So I started imagining a space.
A proper platform to buy and sell secondhand pieces. For women (and their small, sticky-fingered offspring). A place where we could pass on good clothes to people who’d actually wear them.
Somewhere that made decluttering feel less like admin and more like therapy with a cash bonus.
Somewhere that helped us shop smarter, spend less, and look amazing doing it.
Somewhere that made sustainability feel effortless – not like a guilt trip.
So I built Trunk.
Well – after a slight detour involving a pregnancy, a baby, another baby, and a casual 10-hour brain surgery to remove a surprise tumour during Melbourne’s lockdown. (Yes, that all happened. No, I wouldn’t recommend it.)
That experience gave me a hard reset. It made me realise how short and fragile life is – and how much time we waste on things that don’t truly matter. I didn’t want to go back to work just to tick boxes and nod in Zoom meetings. I wanted to build something that actually meant something.
So, back to Trunk.
Trunk is about giving great clothes the second (or third) chance they deserve.
It’s about making room for new chapters, new bodies, new moods.
It’s about shopping with intention, rejecting throwaway fashion culture, and standing for sustainability. It’s about keeping good clothes in circulation – and out of landfill.
We’re not into fast fashion.
We’re not into fashion snobbery.
We’re not trying to be high-end or high-maintenance.
We’re here for real wardrobes – the kind that make getting dressed quick, easy, and one less thing to overthink before 8am.
And because life is busy, we’re all for bundles. Bundles of baby clothes for the next growth spurt, workwear for a whole new era, bundles of “my kid grew 10cm overnight” chaos. One parcel. One transaction. Zero overwhelm.
We’re also here to build a community. Not in the fluffy influencer way. But in the actual way – where women help each other, pass things on, and find joy in looking good without wrecking the planet (or their bank account).
If you’re here to sell, welcome.
If you’re here to shop, hello.
Let’s make fashion less wasteful, more joyful – and way easier to wear.
Love,
Helen
