Fees

Love them or hate them, there’s always fees. (Okay, so no one loves them.)

The bottom line: we try to be as open and upfront as possible about how fees work across our site. If there’s anything that doesn’t seem clear, get in touch.

Buyer fees

Card transaction fees

Australian cards: 1.70% of the purchase amount + $0.30

International cards: 3.50% of the purchase amount + $0.30

Seller fees

12% sales fee — and that's it! No hidden extras.

This covers everything, including:

  • Stripe’s 0.25% + $0.25 transaction fee

  • Your $2 monthly Stripe account fee (currently covered by Trunk)

One simple fee for peace of mind.

Currently sellers on Trunk must use an Australian bank account.

Shipping fees

The shipping cost charged to the buyer for each order is a combination of two fees:

Postage fee

Calculated through Australia Post based on package weight, dimensions, origin and destination, and delivery type.

Trunk Service Fee

A 10% service fee is added to the postage cost to cover:

  • $0.07 USD shipping label generation

  • Address verification

  • Trunk’s platform operating expenses

Note that if the seller miscalculates the size or weight of a package and it results in higher-than-anticipated postage fees being charged by Australia Post, that extra postage fee will be deducted from the seller’s income for the sale.

Cancellation fees

These fees apply to the seller if they cancel a sale after a buyer purchases the item.

Sale reversal fee
$2.50

Return fees

These fees may apply to the seller if their buyer receives an item that was inaccurately described, and asks to return it for a refund. Read our Trunk guarantee for more details
